our nursery

At Moadim Aussies our first goal is health, temperament and the overall standard of the Australian Shepherd breed.  We strive with the help of God to produce the best Aussies possible.  We have a very small breeding program of 5 Aussies who are our personal and beloved friends.  They live in our home and have their own bedroom.  The came to us from some top breeders with champion lines and many years of experience with breeding.  We have moderate to high herding instincts to no herding instincts in our line depending on what you are looking for.  All of our dogs are genetically tested through Paw Prints or through parentage.  They are lovingly handled and socialized from birth to include massaging their paws at 4 weeks to make them easier to deal with when its time to trim nails.

Each of our puppies get constant individual and group attention.  Socialization starts from day one.  Puppies are handled throughout the day to ensure weight gain and overall health of the puppies.  We begin basic training as soon as they are ready to crawl just to get them ready for you! As soon as our pups are old enough we move them from the room to the living room where we can increase our interaction and noise tolerance with them on a daily basis.  This increases their learning and social skills at a much higher rate.  This also gets them ready to cope with the day to day sounds of your family activities around the house during everyday life and ultimately what makes them more comfortable. Social skills are very important in a growing puppies life, with out them you may encounter what we would classify as howlers and piddlers. They howl and piddle for a variety of reasons no one can ever know why for any one dog. Maybe out of fear, stress or being in an unfamiliar place. Certain sounds that they are not familiar with may trigger them or they are dealing with unfamiliar humans (like kids) could stress them out as well. So we do our best to have them around us so they become accustomed to  as many activities around the house as possible.  We keep a good eye on their behaviors as well to ensure that they are not complacent with destructive habits so that you receive the most well rounded puppies that we can possibly provide.

benefits of owning a puppy

According to experts in the study of dogs, the simple act of petting a dog elicits similar emotions in both the dog and us. We both get a great deal of pleasure from interacting with are pets.  Dogs are also known to trigger hormonal changes in us, in much the same way as infants and small children.  This might explain why some of us talk to our pets.  There are benefits to owning a dog.

Reduces stress & anxiety levels

Interacting with a dog releases endorphins into the brain, which has a calming effect on your mood.  Try petting your pet for 10 minutes and see if your mood doesn’t change. It also significantly lowers levels of cortisol which is a stress inducing hormone.

dogs can smell if you aren’t feeling well

Since dogs have a sense of smell 10,000 better than humans, they can often smell diseases & infections in humans. In fact dogs are being trained to detect certain cancers in humans like prostrate, breast, colon, and melanoma.  Also dogs have microbes and bacteria that humans do not have and introducing these micro-organisms into the home can literally help to strengthen our immune systems.

dogs improve our emotional stat

People that own dogs are statistically happier than people without one and believe it or not taking caring for a dog is very self satisfying.  Basic activities such as petting, feeding, grooming, bathing and even walking your dog provides health benefits as well as improving your social life by adding social interactions with others during your walk.
